Two brothers, Chandra Rai (left) and Arjun Rai (right), joined the group for the Annapurna trek. Originally hired by Mary and Jude as porters, Chandra and Arjun quickly became indispensable as translators, guides, and ambassadors of Nepali culture.

We all felt very lucky to know these strong, proud mountain companions.
