Day 6 - Meeting the Mountain     Goodness gracious! I must use sunglasses to gaze across the open desert-like valley, at the Annapurnas, their sides blindingly silver-white. Snow blows off the crest of Annapurna II like smoke against the cobalt-blue sky. Massive clumps of snow and ice cling to the almost vertical north face, leaving ugly overhangs suspended dangerously.
