Even near-vertical slopes support terraced crops. Only a few of the farms we travelled through were yet producing any crops.

For unknown reasons, the land on the opposite side of the canyon remains untouched by farming. After hiking most of the day in the hazy air, we were all quietly hoping for cleaner air and views of the high Himalaya in the days to come.
